Greg Groenekamp

Greg Groenekamp, a graduate of Art Center College of Design in
Pasadena, is best Know for his work as a Senior/Lead Compositor on
Feature Films. Greg is a veteran of the Visual Effects Industry for over 10 years.

Greg started his career shooting commercial advertising; owning his
own studio (Groenekamp Studios) specializing in automotive work,
both on location and in the studio. His in camera composite and
effects work transitioned in to digital effects work. This eventually
lead to a transition from advertising work to digital compositing for
feature films. Greg’s work in Visual Effects now includes over 50 feature films.

Greg’s work has been honored by the Visual Effects Society with a
Nomination for "Outstanding Compositing of the Year" for his work on
Dean Devlin's film "The Librarian". He has had the pleasure of
working on such great effects films like "What Dreams May Come"
and "Independence Day", both films where honored with an Academy
Awards for Best Visual Effects of the year. National Treasure: Book of
Secrets, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Guardian,
Scorpion King, The Run Down, Eight Legged Freaks, The Patriot,
Chronicles of Riddick, are but a few of the films to his Credit.

During the years, he has been fortunate to have work at well respected
Post Production houses as: Asylum VFX, POP/Riot,
Cinesite, Centropolis Effects, Rhythm & Hues, and Electric Entertainment.

Greg is a Founding member of the VES Awards Committee (7 years),
and a VES member for 9+years. His personal interests include
Photography, biking at the beach, Water skiing, Hiking, and
Barbecuing with friends.
